Today I want to do a bit of bragging about my beautiful client Jennifer, and show off all she's accomplished.
Jennifer came to me part way through her weight loss journey - she had successfully lost 60lbs on her own, but needed a way to keep the progress going as she'd hit a plateau.
Jennifer and I have been working together for a year, and she's lost an additional 50lbs in that time. Thank you Jen, for trusting me with your health and fitness - I'm so proud of you!
Here's what Jennifer had to say about her work so far...
"I struggled for years with my weight after the birth of my daughter and it took up until she was about 10 when I realized that she was showing the same signs of weight gain that I had already taken on (about 100 pounds). I did not want her to struggle with her weight like I had for 10 years, so I decided to make a change. Through small diet changes and exercising, we were both able to lose about 25lbs weight together .
I started CrossFit three years ago at the age of 43 and just fell in love with the variety and strength that I was building but I just could not lose any more weight.
I had gone through several programs at my gym that helped me lose an additional 30 pounds but I was at a stand still losing weight while maintaining enough energy and fuel to foster the workouts as these programs limited caloric daily intake (less than 1000 per day).
I began working with Laura one year ago after being referred by a friend after witnessing her results first hand. Let me just say that this was the boost that I needed and Laura has been amazing with all the support and motivation that she provides.
Tracking macros has allowed me the ability to lose weight while keeping the energy I need to succeed at workouts. I am still held accountable for the food I eat, but this approach allows me to be flexible in what I choose to eat. I am not limited to a list of food that I cannot stray away from. If I want pizza, I fit it into the daily macros. I rarely feel hungry and my workouts have improved over the past year.
Just like all other plans, this is not magic and you have to put in the time with planning, but with dedication and drive this will work. Laura’s program has helped me lose 50 pounds over the past year and I have gained so much muscle tone. I now do CrossFit 4-5 times a week along with 6 days of weight training and teach a SPIN class 1-2 days per week. I competed in my first Spartan race in 2017 and in 2018 I am doing a Trifecta!
Fitness is a big part of my life now and I have a new insight about food, “I eat to live instead of living to eat”. I am in the best shape of my life but I am not done yet. This year will bring new challenges and goals!
